OPEN RELIEF - Empowering Communities through Open-Source Creative Solutions for Crisis Preparedness and Humanitarian Innovation - is a 24-month project co-funded by the European Union through the Creative Europe Programme. The project explores how cultural and creative sector professionals, humanitarian actors, and local communities can work together to develop open-source, adaptable, and community-based solutions for crisis preparedness. Through participatory co-creation, OPEN RELIEF aims to make preparedness more inclusive, practical, repairable, and responsive to the real needs of people and communities.

The project brings together a cross-border consortium from Croatia, Greece, and Ukraine. The consortium is coordinated by IM INDUSTRIES from Croatia and includes Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD) from Ukraine, contributing expertise in digital fabrication, engineering design, and frugal innovation, and LATRA EE from Greece, leading communication, dissemination, and hybrid participatory design hubs with refugees and displaced creatives.
